What do you people think about me join the military?

hi im 17 im gonna graduate high school next year i was think of joining the army or some other branch after high school, but for some reason i been really wanting to be up for the challenge i know a couple of people in the army but havent heard much yet. parents dont know yet that im thinking of this. what do you people tthink i should do. would joining the army be a good idea what are the pros and cons.
