My dad drove home from the bar and is so drunk he can barely stand...?

What can I do to make sure he has the living $hit scared out of him so he never does this again? I am 19 and live at home with my parents and hes had a bad problem with alcohol in the past and started wheening off it, but that past 2 weeks its getting worse again. I don't care if he goes to jail or not because I absolutely hate the scum bag, but I want to know if I call the police and tell them he was drinking and driving if they will do anything about it? I don't give two damns if he drinks his life away, but when he starts endangering other people, that's crossing the line! What can I do?
