How come my friend and I can't see each others' display images on yahoo messenger?

I've already tried deleting the cache files in the avatar and icon folders, and so did she. And sadly, it didn't work. I'm just wondering if there's another known solution that we could try? I'm just stumped at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) Thank you so much in advance!
