Why does my msn profile picture keep disappearing?

Everytime I put a new profile picture on my hotmail/messenger, it disappears. ALWAYS happens, usually after about an hour-2days. I have to keep replacing it and its annoying; sometimes it won't even let me put another one on once it has disappeared! Why is this happening? advice please!!
