Can i ask a question for guys and experienced girls?

So there's this guy in our bus I used to talk to all the time, (i also has many dreams about him; including him saving me from falling off a cliff). I used to like how he listened to what I said and when we laughed t, and hated when he just nodded or even slept. I even added him on messenger and he never talked except for one day when he said i was weird the he eneded up saying i thought i was the best person in the world (i don't). Well, my friends and ppl on yahoo answers told me he was stupid or playing with my feelings. So I just ignore him right now (and deleted him). Now, my question is : How do u explain "Weeks later he forgot his books in the morning bus, so when I gave them to him in that bench full of boys, he was like thanks and smiled but kinda sadly, next incident i heard him say my name (i was the witness of something-just a joke) and I asked another guy wut was this about, and the guy this question is about smiled and said "u saw that he hit with the chair" it was funny that i dont even see wut their doing as i sit somewhere in the middle (their back) and he knows that, he always sings very loudly when i talk with the other guy and annoys him (the other guy is a nerd btw)" the guy this question is about is really weird, but i think i like him, but when i remember wut he said i say to myself-he hates me, he hates me. SORRY FOR BEING TOO LONG. I would really appreciate it if u read till here :D
