Blackberry facebook and and windows live messenger free with wi-fi?

i got a blackberry 3g curve on contract 300 mins + unlimted texts however i already downloaded both facebook and windows live messenger bbut i know i dont have a data plan but will both of these apps work with wi-fi because its been charging me but inever use the apps without wi-fi
