Am I allowed to do this with carry on?

I'm flying back from Germany to Florida with Lufthansa airlines in march, And I decided to pack my electronics bag early... But one item I am returning with but did not come with is a Xbox 360, no cables or anything just the unit. Am I allowed to just hold it in my hand thru the airport & security lines then have it on my lap during the flight? pretty much bare in my hands.
