How do I stop my puppy from eating everything?

My 8 month old King Charles caviler puppy has a habit of eating anything that can fit in his mount. his favorite food is crayons. I can tell by his neon colored poop. I have also found completely intact army men in there too as well as other knick knacs. How do I stop him from eating everything and destroying my house. thanks....
